Sissy Harrington is an inspiring modern day female voice with the power to catch your attention and the intimacy to hold your heart. With a voice that is both angelic and powerful, she will touch you with her emotional vitality, her raw and vulnerable spirit, and her youthful lust for intimacy and truth.
Originally inspired by brilliant singer-songwriters, such as Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan, and Cat Stevens,Sissy took to heart their art of intimate communication through song. Finding her own voice seemed a natural progression of her own commitment to living each moment with an open and passionate heart, then pouring it all out into endless personal journal entries, and, finally, in accepting her own soul’s demand that she define, understand, and expose the truths she finds.
Sissy was still a pre-teen when she first heard Jewel and Fiona Apple and was at once awakened and transformed by the honesty of their words and beauty of their music.
With an acoustic guitar in hand, she began writing songs and creating a sound of sensitivity and attitude, not far from the songs that first inspired her, but with her own personal message and voice. As an artist, Sissy can be expected to serve up a powerful dose of passion and truth, but that is where the predictability ends. You’ll enjoy a variety of emotions and delivery styles that will hold your attention as well as she will hold your heart. Currently recording her first album and playing gigs around Raleigh, NC & Nashville, TN, Sissy enjoys performing her songs to an ever expanding sphere of people and venues. Sissy is currently working on her first release.
